I have been a Methodist for as long as I can remember. Despite growing up in a Methodist church, I had little comprehension of Methodism and hence,

To me, being a Methodist is to view the world as our parish. We can do this in three simple ways:

I have been a member of Grace Methodist Church (GMC) since 1989. Before then, I had many opportunities to hear about God and salvation from different people of different denominations.

I was hopping from church to church (all non-Methodist ones) when I met a girl, Wendy, while on holiday with a few colleagues in Bali. About nine months later, I married her.

My name is Hannah Chun and I am married with four children. I spend most of my time with my family and serving the Lord. I am a former drug addict.

Being a Methodist is to love God and our neighbours in all aspects of life, including through the good stewardship of wealth. This occurred to me when I started working recently.

When it comes to missions, we usually think of church volunteers going abroad on short-term mission trips and full-time missionaries living among the natives. Donald Leow, a movie-maker, however, calls himself a “media missionary”.

It means being a part of a tradition […]

My journey with the Methodist Church started in 1981, when my leader in The Navigators (an international, inter-denominational Christian group) introduced me to Tamil Methodist Church, Short Street. It was a step of faith for me, being a recent convert from […]

As Methodists we are inspired by Wesley’s advocacy to be an “altogether” Christian and his model for small groups, or cell groups. This model was one of John Wesley’s most successful ministries in meeting the needs of members and coaching them to grow in “holiness of heart and life”. At Grace Methodist Church, we put […]

My wife and I “accidentally” stumbled into a Methodist church. While asking ourselves, “is that all there is to this life?”, we found ourselves attending a Sunday service at Kampong Kapor Methodist Church in 1997, at the invitation of a close family friend.

Sabina (second from left) and her family “But you, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures to all generations.” Lamentations 5:19 My Methodist lineage is one that transcends generations. My great-grandparents began serving and worshipping in Tamil Methodist Church (Short Street) (TMCSS) in the early 1930s. My great-grandfather also served in the Evelyn Seminary. I […]
